The Level of Accessibility in the Weizmann Institute’s Websites
The website was built in accordance with the accessibility guidelines appearing in W3C’s Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.0, Level AA
Some of the pages available on the website are taken from other websites, and have therefore not been made accessible.
It should be noted that despite our efforts to make all the pages available on the website accessible, it is possible that some sections of the website will not have been made accessible yet. We are continuing our efforts to improve the website’s accessibility as part of our commitment to allow its use by the entire population, including people with disabilities.
The “Accessibility” button can be found on the top left corner. Upon clicking this button a menu will open, offering the user the various types of accessibility available on the website. After choosing the required type of accessibility, and clicking it, the website will reload in the accessible format. To stop the accessible format, click the “back to original” button which will appear in the menu after you select the required type of accessibility. The menu can be opened using the keyboard by pressing the Enter key located in the number pad.
Increasing the Size of the Website’s Display
Users with impaired vision who are interested in increasing the size of the website’s display, can do so by pressing the “ctrl” and “+” (Control and Plus) keys simultaneously. Each time you press these keys simultaneously the display size will increase by 10%. In order to decrease the display size press the “ctrl” and “-” (Control and Minus) keys simultaneously. The website also allows the alteration of the font size by using the font increase/decrease buttons located in the accessibility feature.
Operating the Website using the Keyboard
Users who find it difficult to operate a mouse can browse the website using their keyboard. Repeatedly pressing the Tab key will transfer you between the various links available on the page. Pressing Enter will activate the marked link.
