Summary

This research project examines the impact of a teachers’ professional development program for promoting dialogic argumentative and collaborative talk in schools. The phenomena under study are examined in lower secondary schools and across central disciplines in learning that are traditionally compartmentalized: science, mathematics, and the humanities. The project is funded by the Israel Science Foundation Center of Excellence for Promoting Meaningful Learning (ISF 2699/17) in collaboration with Prof. Baruch Schwarz from the Hebrew University in Jerusalem, Prof. Einat Heyd-Metzuyanim from the Technion, Prof. Michal Tabach from Tel Aviv University, and Prof. Boris Koichu from the institute.
