תקציר:<\/b><\/td>\nהחינוך המדעי הוא תהליך של סוציאליזציה (חיברות) לקהילה המדעית. בתהליך זה, מוצגים ללומדים הידע המדעי, דרכי חשיבה והתנהגות, סגנון שיח, קודים של התנהגות, ערכים, היסטוריה ומסורת. מורים בבי"ס יסודי (כיתות א'-ו') אולי לא ירגישו שהתהליך הזה מספיק מוטמע בהם כך שיוכלו לשמש כמדריכים העוזרים לילדים להבין את הרעיונות, הסמלים והמוסכמות הספציפיים (וכו') האלה. השימוש ביומנים ויומני מסע של המדען וציד הלוויתנים, קפטן ווילאם סקורסבי ג'וניור, בהקשר של המחקר שהתחיל ע"י פלינסקר, פורד ומגנוסון, יראה כי חומרים היסטוריים מסוג זה יכולים לסייע למורים ולומדים להשיג כמה מהמטרות האלה.<\/td>\n<\/tr><\/tbody><\/table>
