Hydrophilic. מקור המונח ביוונית: Hydro-מים ו-Philia-אהבה, ומשמעו זיקה (משיכה) חזקה למים. מתאר את התכונה הפיזיקלית של מולקולה<\/a>, או של חלק ממנה, להיקשר למים ולהגיב עמם באמצעות קשרי מימן<\/a>. מולקולות הידרופיליות הן לרוב טעונות או בעלות קבוצה קוטבית, ותכונה זו מאפשרת להן להיקשר ולהתמוסס במים או בממס קוטבי אחר.<\/p>\n
