(Intron באנגלית: Intervening = להפריד, להמצא בין) – רצף DNA הנמצא בגן האאוקריוטי בין שני אקסונים בגן ומנתק את הרצף המקודד לחלבון. האינטרון מתועתק לmRNA כיחידה קווית אחת עם האקסונים, אך הוא נחתך מתוך רצף ה-mRNA לפני התרגום.<\/p>\n
